TODDLERS

19 - 36 Months

Designed to support the growing independence, curiousity, and communication skills that naturally emerge during this dynamic stage of development.

Our program teachers ensure that

As toddlers begin to form deeper connections with peers and educators, we place a strong emphasis on social and emotional development that includes:
  • hands-on experiences, group interactions and shared conversations
  • support in recognizing, expressing, and managing their emotions
  • developing empathy
  • learning respectful ways to interact with others
Rooted in a play-based and emergent curriculum, we provide engaging experiences that reflect toddlers’ interests while supporting the development of language, problem-solving, and social skills.  Educators offer warm, responsive care that encourages independence while providing guidance, reassurance, and support as needed.

Our goal is to nurture confident, curious, and joyful learners who feel safe, respected, and supported as they continue their early learning journey.

How We Achieve It

We view toddlers as capable and competent learners and the value of the role of educators is as co-learners - exploring, questioning, and growing alongside the children.
  • Language development is a key focus
  • Early literacy skills are encouraged through storytelling, mark-making, sensory play, music and creative expression
  • Responsive learning opportunities
  • Strong emphasis on social/emotional development
Each day includes opportunities for group experiences that encourage collaboration and connection, as well as time for independent exploration through both child-led and educator-guided activities. Carefully prepared environments invite curiosity, movement, creativity, and active learning. Open-ended materials, loose parts, and sensory experiences are intentionally offered to inspire inquiry and deeper engagement.

Toddlers are introduced to early concepts related to math, science, social understanding, dramatic play, and early literacy through play, exploration, and experimentation.
